1) When do I select VOX and PTT during use?
VOX (voice activation of the microphone) is designed
for convenient hands-free operation of your radio communicator,
but requires proper input level selection and proper voice level
control for optimum use. Also, as it can’t distinguish between
the voice and other audio picked up by the microphone (such as
engine or wind noise), VOX generally works best with quiet motorcycles
and at low to moderate speeds. If you are having problems with
false triggering of the VOX you should use the PTT (Push- to-Talk)
mode. This is the recommendation for use at higher speeds, when
there is the highest chance of wind noise triggering the VOX.
