    Verified Purchase
This is a amazing microphone for the price, in fact, I don’t think you need something else to record decent/pro vocals, Im a 10 years musician and studio owner, the only issue with this condenser mic is that you have to watch ¨sibilant’type singers recordings ,because of the brightness and detailed capture of the microphone, in this case you can use a more neutral mic or a desser, but the overall sound quality of this microphone can be compared to any other hundreds and hundreds more expensive.

‘m a musician and podcaster who does all kinds of home recording projects, from DVD commentary tracks to songs with a full band. Prior to owning the Nady SCM-800, I used a pair of dynamic mics I’d bought at Radio Shack years earlier. I was immediately impressed with the quality of the Nady, of course, because it’s a huge step up. However, it has continued to amaze me with it’s warmth and range. I set it up in front of a drum kit and captured everything clearly! The bass levels it gets are incredible as well. I can sit in front of it and play acoustic guitar, and I don’t need to do any additional mixing afterward. And for podcasting it has been a dream, very professional and big sound. This is a phantom powered mic, so make sure the mixer or powered device you’re plugging it into can supply the necessary power (it has none of its own, no battery or anything). You will also need to purchase a cord for it, but I went ahead and bought a shock mount and a pop filter too. Looks and sounds wonderful. Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because it came in a zipper case that won’t provide adequate protection for storage or transport, but for the price, I didn’t expect it to.

‘ve owned more expensive mics, like many that end up purchasing this, but this one is as sensitive as all of the ‘better ones’. You will need a very quiet room for using it because it IS so sensitive. After purchasing a mic like this you’ll understand why studios go to great lengths to make sound proof vocal booths. I’m lovin’ it.

also this mic has a secret feature alot dont know about, unlessed you research its specs SEE Below
In this implementation, a pushbutton switch on the circuit board (not accessible from outside the microphone) enables a high-pass filter, specified as -6dB/octave @ 100Hz.

just received this wonderful microphone in the mail. Immediately hooked it up and recorded some vocals through my Tascam US-1641, into Cubase. Wow! So warm and vibrant. Super low noise. Tried it out on my classical acoustic next. Once again, absolutely beautiful. The clarity is marvelous. If you want to capture accurate sound with little need for editing or effects for a very low price, this is a great choice. Can’t say enough good!

This condenser is well worth your money. If you are looking to record vocals and/or broadcasts, get this mic. Even if you dont have a phantom power supply. GET THAT AS WELL!!!! My entire order, which consists of an xlr cord, this microphone, the smps-1x phantom power supply, and the sspf-4 spider shockmount, was only about 130. The m-audio producer usb condenser doesnt even compare to this microphone.

I am pleased with this mic for its overall quality of build and for how it sounds. I give it five stars for being an incredibly good mic for its price, as to see any appreciable difference, I would expect to pay 10X as much as I had. It should be noted that I am using this mic in conjunction with the ART tube preamp, which gives it the phantom power it needs and warms the sound a bit.
